Eye Hitches

This Hitch Lock finder guide is not exhaustive and may not include your hitch if it is not so common. If you can’t see a picture of your hitch on this page or want further clarification on what hitch lock will fit your hitch, please contact us by sending us a photo of your hitch and one of our team will try to assist further.

Unbraked Trailers:

On Unbraked trailers the hitch mounting on the trailer draw bar/A-Frame could also affect which hitch locks will fit so please bear this in mind. This hitch lock fitting guide is for braked trailers. If your trailer is unbraked, (hitch is mounted directly onto the trailer frame), please see our unbraked trailer hitch lock guide.

Braked Trailers:

The hitches most commonly found on Ifor Williams Trailers is the Knott Avonride Head which fits the FortA. The Hitch found on Indespension trailers is generally the Indespension Triplelock- see the FortIB, please note that many indespension trailers are fitted with an eye hitch as standard which will require an SAS eye lock. Brian James larger trailers generally fit the AK301 or AK351 on new trailers. Caravans will almost always have a Stabiliser Hitch by Alko, model depending on the age of the caravan – see Fort2Gold. Where the Caravan is older, the Winterhoff Stabiliser WS3000 is common. Alko & Knott hitches are a common choice by trailer manufacturers and smaller caravans.

Please be aware that any hitch can be fitted on any trailer after market so we always recommend careful checking before deciding on the correct hitch lock. There is generally nothing to stop anyone changing the hitch from what the manufacturer first fitted. Even the manufacturer may change their hitch of choice from what we have at time of writing!
